Williamson Co. patrol car stops abandoned stolen car from rolling down street

MARION, IL (KFVS) - A patrol car stopped an abandoned stolen vehicle from rolling down a street in Marion on Wednesday. It happened around 9:40 a.m.

According to Illinois State Police, the stolen vehicle was abandoned after police cars got close by.

The car began to roll down the hill on Commander Drive toward Main Street. A Williamson County deputy then placed the patrol car in the moving car's path, stopping it.

An investigation is continuing and charges are pending, according to state police.
