Police: Charleston man injured in DWI crash trying to flee traffic stop

SCOTT COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - A Charleston man was injured Saturday morning after state troopers say he tried to flee a traffic stop and lost control of his car.
It happened around 9:15 a.m. on Scott County Road 346, about 8/10 mile north of MO 77.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Jitwuan D. McCain, 29, tried to flee from a traffic stop, lost control of his car, drove off the right side of the road and hit a tree.
He was taken by EMS to a Cape Girardeau hospital with serious injuries.
McCain faces charges of driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle while license revoked, operating a motor vehicle over posted speed limit and misdemeanor fleeing.
He was also ticked for not wearing a seat belt.
