ELKVILLE, IL (KFVS) - Opie the cockatiel from Elkville, Illinois pays special tribute to Andy Griffith.

His owner, Sherry Jeschke, says Opie was not originally named for the character in "The Andy Griffith Show," but for the Opie in "Sons of Anarchy."

However, she's a big fan of Andy Griffith and thought it fitting to teach Opie the theme song.

Jeschke says Opie can also sing the "Imperial March" from "Star Wars".

*Me-TV will air a special tribute to the late Andy Griffith Wednesday, July 4th, from 11 a.m. 2 p.m. CT with select episodes of; Hawaii Five-O, The Mod Squad, Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C. and Make Room For Daddy, all of which Andy Griffith guest starred in.
