DEXTER, MO (KFVS) - It's not your typical food order for one. It was 20 catfish filets, one pound each of french fries, hush puppies, baked beans, coleslaw and more than a gallon of water to drink.
Randy Santel, a professional body builder and proclaimed pro-food contest eater won his competition by eating all of that in 23-minutes.
This man versus food contest took place at the Fiddlers Catfish and Seafood in Dexter on Thursday.
The previous record at fiddlers was 54-minutes.
Santel says the contest did get tough.
"It started to get tough with about three pieces of catfish left," said Randy Santel. "But, that also helped in my mind because I knew the catfish was almost gone. So once I got through with that I just had a few more sides left and that was it."
Santel says he usually eats burgers and pizza for food challenges.
This was the first time he chowed down fish for a contest.
