Ohio River at Record Level at Cairo

(KFVS) -- The Ohio River at Cairo, Illinois has moved in to uncharted waters.  The river passed the previous record (59.5 feet in 1937) at 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning, according to the National Weather Service.

At 11:00 a.m. the Ohio River at Cairo is at 59.83 feet.  The latest forecast information available, last evening, has Ohio River cresting at 60.5 feet.
