Sandbagging operations continue in Gallatin County, Illinois.  Sandbagging continues in all communities except Omaha.

DUTCHTOWN, MO (KFVS) - New Madrid, Mo. is in need of sandbagging volunteers.

Sandbags are available at 160 Homer Lucas Lane, across from Mike Miller Park on Highway 68 in Marshall County, Ky.  If anyone needs assistance in moving items from their residence beyond closed roads or barricades, they must call the County EOC at 527-6503 or the Marshall County Sheriff's Department at 527-3112. Those who need assistance evacuating their homes may also call the Marshall County EOC.

Sandbagging has resumed at the Jackson County Department of Highways in Murphysboro. If you need sandbags please call the operations center at 684-3137. Volunteers are also needed today, Tuesday. If you would like to volunteer, go directly to the highway department located at 1200 Enterprise Rd in Murphysboro.

Sandbags are available at the McCracken County Road Department on Coleman Road in Paducah.

They're asking for help sandbagging in East Cape at the Community Building because it's taking on water. They've now set up a station in East Cape for folks to come get water. That's at East Cape Community Building. Folks in McClure can still get water from City Hall.

Alexander County EMA is asking for sandbagging in the county. Volunteers are asked to show up at the Alexander County Highway Department building in Olive Branch off of Route 3.  The county's mobile command center will be there as will.

Jackson County EMA says you can help there with sandbagging as well. Sandbagging operations began in Elkville in Jackson County Tuesday Afternoon. Volunteers are needed immediately to help with this progress. If you would like to volunteer, you can report to Elkville City Hall/Civic Center on 403 S. 6th Street or call 618-568-7881.

In Metropolis, Illinois volunteer sandbaggers need to go to the Clark School on 5th Street.  The city is also asking for volunteers with trucks and trailers. Residents needing sandbags can pick those up at the Clark School on East 5th Street and the Massac County High School.  If you need sandbags, call either the Mayor's Office at 618-524-4016 or contact the Clerk's Office at 618-524-2711.

Sandbaggers are needed in Dutchtown, according to several callers into the Heartland newsroom.We understand volunteers are filling sandbags across from the old furniture store. These sandbags will then be put on the rock levee that's running down the middle of Highway 74.  Highway 74 from Cape Girardeau to Dutchtown and Highway 25 at Dutchtown is closed.

Scott County Presiding Commissioner Jamie Burger requested sandbagging volunteers in Benton, Missouri. Head to the Hwy. Dept. building in Benton, which is next to the ballpark. He says his road crews need to be out monitoring conditions, rather than stuffing sandbags.  Burger says the Oran High baseball team helped fill bags one day rather than practice. The Scott County Central old gym is open for flood victims.

Sikeston Public Works has also set up a sandbagging station at the city compost site for city residents. The city has sand and sand bags available for citizens to fill and take with them at no cost. This site will be unmanned and open all night. There will be two shovels left at the site to fill the bags.

The Dexter police chief asked for volunteers to report at noon April 26 at radio station KDEX to fill sandbags.
