CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - A Cape Girardeau man has bruises and scratches after he was pulled under a garbage truck Monday morning.
A trash truck was emptying trash at a house on Mill Street when some garbage spilled out.
Police say the resident noticed it and tried to pick it up. That's when the mechanical arm on the truck caught the man and pulled him under the truck.
He yelled and was able to get the worker's attention.
"He went up against the back, the front tire of it," said Jean Lagois, a witness. "But he's got scrapes and bruises. A knot on the back of his head and cell phone busted up in pieces. It was terrible."
He was taken to Saint Francis Medical Center with scrapes and bruises.
