PINCKNEYVILLE, IL (KFVS) - Heartland News has confirmed 15-year-old Sidnee Stephens of Pinckneyville died of gunshot wounds and strangulation.

A third person has been arrested and charged with murdering Stephens.

At a Friday morning press conference, Perry County Sheriff Keith Kellerman said 18-year-old Carl Dane, 17-year-old James Glaizer and a 15-year-old male juvenile each face two counts of 1st degree murder for Stephens' death. According to the sheriff, Dane is eligible for the death penalty.

The sheriff also said the juvenile is related to Dane.

Authorities offered their condolences to the family calling this a "tragic situation".

According to the sheriff's department, the third person is a juvenile so their name will not be released.

Perry County Sheriff Keith Kellerman has scheduled a news conference Friday at noon at the Pickneyville city hall about the arrests of all 3 people.

Wednesday night 18-year-old Carl Dane of Pinckneyville Wednesday night. Thursday afternoon police arrested 17-year-old James Glazier also of Pinckneyville.

Both men are charged with one count of first degree murder in connection with the death of 15-year-old Sidnee Stephens.

A fisherman reported a body floating in the Beaucoup Creek around 5 p.m. Sunday.

Police later identified the victim as Stephens.
