Animal welfare group submits 190,000 signatures for puppy mill bill

(KFVS) - The animal welfare group working to get the puppy mill bill on the November ballot in Missouri takes its next step.

Missourians for the Protection of Dogs submitted more than 190,000 signatures to the Secretary of State's office in an attempt to qualify the Puppy Mill Cruelty Prevention Act for the fall elections.

The act would require large-scale dog breeders in Missouri to provide animals with sufficient food and clean water, veterinary care, adequate space, and exercise.
