CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - A Cape Girardeau attorney arrested in connection with a Wednesday night domestic dispute faces criminal charges.

After a brief scuffle, Cape Girardeau County sheriff's deputies and Missouri Highway Patrol officers arrested Scott Reynolds, 47, at Reynolds' home on County Road 203 in Jackson.  According to a news release, Reynolds' fiance said Reynolds pulled out some of her hair, pointed a handgun to her head and pulled the trigger five times during an argument over money.  The gun did not fire because the fiance had removed the bullets the day before.

The incident occurred in front of the victim's 6-year-old child, deputies said.

The victim eventually ran to a neighbor's house and called authorities.

Reynolds has been charged by the Boone County Prosecuting Attorney's Office at the request of Cape Girardeau County prosecutor Morley Swingle due to a conflict of interest.  The charges include felony armed criminal action, domestic violence and endangering the welfare of a child.

Reynolds was taken to jail on a $200,000 cash only bond.
