POPLAR BLUFF, MO (KFVS) - Three teenage boys were killed in a crash on Route PP Friday morning in Poplar Bluff.
Two of the teens that were killed were siblings.
Kyle Rose, 16, Jeremiah Klein, 16, and Christopher Klein, 15, died in the crash Friday morning, according to the Poplar Bluff Police Department.
Police say all three drowned in a creek overflowing from recent heavy rain and were pronounced dead at the scene by the Butler County coroner.
A red 1999 Pontiac Firebird driven by 16-year-old Kevin Parker crashed with a white 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Rose on State Highway PP at Iron Bridge Road.  Police say both cars were submerged in a creek on the north side of the road.  The Grand Prix was overturned in the creek.
Kevin Parker was treated and released from a local hospital, reportedly with minor injuries.
The Poplar Bluff Schools Superintendent says all four involved in the crash were students at Poplar Bluff High School.
Counselors were on hand all day Friday at the school.
Assistant Principal Sheldon Tyler says the district did everything it could to help the grieving students.
Administrators and staff had a hard time dealing with the loss as well.
"You see kids crying and realize you have to be professional and try not to cry, although some do we're human", said Tyler. "Try no to think about if this were your child, but to lose two kids at a time, I can't even fathom it in my mind".
Sophomore Jamie Gooch says it's been very difficult.
"It's hard knowing some of our own classmates just won't graduate with us now", said Gooch.
Assistant Principal Tyler says counselors will be back on Monday.
"Although we're not supposed to do these things, we do need your thoughts and prayers. It's something kids have to deal's the real world", said Tyler.
No official word on what caused the crash.
Missouri State Highway Patrol's Crash Team and Poplar Bluff Police Department continue to investigate.
