Nick Gremillion has worked as a digital journalist for five years in south Louisiana.
Nick is a native of Covington, Louisiana and took video production courses at Covington High School.
He is a graduate of Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, where he majored in Mass Communications-Broadcast Journalism and minored in creative writing. Nick managed Nicholls’ student-ran radio station 91.5 FM KNSU for two years.
While attending Nicholls, he got his start in digital journalism while interning for 89.9 FM WWNO in New Orleans. As an intern he covered the Thiboduax/Houma area for WWNO.
He also produced two segments for the nationally syndicated financial radio program Marketplace during his internship WWNO.
He got his first job in news in 2013 at WVLA/WGMB-TV in Baton Rouge where he worked as a digital content producer and digital content manager.
In 2015 he began working at KLFY-TV in Lafayette where he worked as a digital media manager.
Nick joined the WAFB team in 2017 as a Digital Storybuilder. He currently works with WAFB’s talented team of anchors, reporters, and producers to enhance WAFB’s digital content. The position allows Nick to be both in the field and in the newsroom.
Nick also manages the Outdoors content on WAFB’s TheLouisianaWeekend.com. This is what he enjoys doing most.
He looks forward to telling the stories of outdoor enthusiasts in the Baton Rouge area and beyond.
Actor Bill Murray has reprised his role as local TV weatherman Phil Connors from the 1993 film Groundhog Day for a Jeep commercial that will air during Super Bowl LIV, which happens to be on Groundhog Day, Feb. 2, 2020.
