Kaitlyn Schumacher

Kaitlyn shoots, writes, and edits stories for Ozarks Today.

Kaitlyn grew up in Monett, Mo. When she was in high school, she served as a student reporter for the Monett-Times. Since then, she knew journalism was the career for her.

After spending two years at Ozarks Technical Community College, she earned her Associate's Degrees in General Studies and Electronic Media Production. As a student, Kaitlyn was a member of the honors program and Phi Theta Kappa. She also competed in SkillsUSA, winning the National Championship in Broadcast News Production and was a Television Production national qualifier. After graduating, she became a teacher in the media department.

Kaitlyn continued her education at Drury University. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism and a Master's Degree in Communication. As a student, Kaitlyn was a host and producer for DUTV.

Kaitlyn loves getting to know people and telling their stories. In her free time, you can find her figure skating, cooking, and playing the ukulele. She is also a volunteer with the American Heart Association, Community Blood Center of the Ozarks, and area community theaters.
