John Eads joined the WAFB news and sports team in July of 2023. He is a native of Northville, MI, located in between Ann Arbor and Detroit. He attended Syracuse University and graduated in May 2023 with a degree in Broadcast and Digital Journalism.
While in school, Eads covered the Syracuse Orange and benefitted from the incredible program at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. While in Central New York, Eads earned one of six first team All-American nominations from the Sportscasters Talent Agency of America.
Eads grew up in Big Ten country and attending Michigan Wolverine football games on the weekend. He's very excited to make the move to SEC territory and cover all the sports in Baton Rouge and beyond.
You can catch his reporting work on 9 News during the week and as both a fill-in anchor for sports and regular anchor for the 9 News this Morning at 7 a.m. on Sundays.
