Williams wins Cape Girardeau Co. coroner, according to unofficial results
CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - The unofficial results are in for the Cape Girardeau County coroner’s race.
Deputy Coroner Craig Williams beat out a crowded field that included embattled incumbent Wavis Jordan. Williams got 31.4 percent of the vote.
His closest challenger, funeral director Mark Seesing had 28 percent of the vote.

A total of six men were running for the office.
The others included ambulance district assistance director and paramedic Ted Ivie, emergency room doctor Chad Armstrong, licensed private investigator John Mackey and current Cape Girardeau County coroner Wavis Jordan.
Jordan is not currently serving in that position after a judge barred him from office in February.
That move came immediately after the Missouri Attorney General’s Office filed four criminal charges against Jordan, along with a civil action seeking to permanently remove him from office.
Jordan faces three felony counts of providing false information to the state, along with a misdemeanor count of stealing. He pleaded not guilty to those charges, and told the judge in his civil case he had given the job his best.
Jordan heads back to court on both cases in September.
