(KFVS) - A cold front is knocking on our door.

After a very hot afternoon, Chief Meteorologist Grant Dade says cooler weather will arrive in the Heartland overnight.

For this evening we will see a few clouds develop as the front moves in.

There is a very slim chance for a pop-up shower but most areas will remain dry.

Temperatures will fall through the 80s.

Lows by morning will be in the upper 60s.

Thursday will start off mostly cloudy and become partly sunny in the afternoon. It will be much cooler with highs reaching the lower to middle 80s.

As for now, our next best chance for scattered showers or storms should hold off until next week.

A few areas could also drop to the upper 50s this weekend.
