Son now also missing after father vanishes near Wabash River
EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (WFIE) - The son of a man who vanished last year in the Tri-State has also now been reported missing out of Illinois.
Jared McColloch was last seen at a gas station in Carmi last November while on the way to Bentonville to visit his 16-year-old son Chandler Stokes.
Officials discovered Jared’s car days later near the Wabash River in Knox County.

Now, police are also searching for Jared’s son Chandler after he took an Uber from a transitional center in East St. Louis.
In the weeks leading up to his disappearance, Jared’s mom Tammie says he had been working to get custody of Chandler.
She says she’s concerned that her missing grandson hasn’t fully come to terms with his father’s disappearance.
”The biggest thing is that I’m worried, and I’m not saying foul play worried,” she tells us. “I’m talking about the age group and the mental status, is he okay. I know he loved his father no matter what, and I don’t think he, from what I understand, doesn’t know the full truth about what may be to come where his father’s concerned.”
Tammie says police have disclosed they’re treating Chandler as a runaway.
Chandler hasn’t been seen since July 29. Anyone with any information is encouraged to call the Cahokia Heights Police Department at (618) 337-9505.
