Body found in Mississippi River identified as missing Cape Girardeau woman
CARLISLE COUNTY, Ky. (KFVS) - A body found in the Mississippi River over the weekend has been identified as a missing Cape Girardeau woman.
Mississippi County Coroner Terry Parker confirmed the body was 81-year-old Rose Mary Weaver. He said no foul play is suspected.
On Sunday, August 4, Carlisle County E911 said they received a report from the U.S. Coast Guard about a possible body floating in the Mississippi River.
Several agencies in western Kentucky were contacted to assist in a coordinated response.
According to officials, Rescue Squad members successfully recovered the body just inside the Missouri waterways.
The body was then turned over to investigators in Missouri.
Weaver was reported missing at the end of July and an Endangered Silver Advisory was issued.
