Thrillville Thrillbillies begin inaugural season at Mtn Dew Park
MARION, Ill. (KFVS) - Baseball returned to Marion on Wednesday night, May 31.
The Thrillville Thrillbillies opened their inaugural season in the Prospect League at Mtn Dew Park.
Fans can expect a lot excitement this year. Leaders with the ThrillbIllies say the baseball team isn’t the only ones looking to hit a home run this season.
They also want to knock the fan experience out of the park.
From food Items like chicken and waffles, street tacos and sweet treats like Krispy Kreme donuts and candy. The Thrillbillies are trying to make their food options the highlight of any game.
The team is also planning on doing multiple theme nights like Thirsty Thursdays, firework nights, bark in the park and ‘80s night.
Leaders say they know baseball will be played every night, but it’s about the fan experience.
”Virtually every home game this year, there’s going to be a giveaway. There’s going to be some kind of performance, there’s going to be something to add to their baseball experience. So stay with us on social media and Thrillbillies.com.” said Herby Voss, with marketing for the Black Diamond Family of Business.
Coming up Saturday, June 3 the Thrillbillies will have Blast and the Furious Night, where they will be shooting a guy out of a cannon over a helicopter.
There will be plenty of fun during the Thrillbillies’ more than 25 home games, with leaders aiming to make each one stand out.
The game against the Jackson Rockabillys begins at 6:45 p.m.
