SIUC, St. Louis area community colleges sign agreements to improve access for students

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KFVS) - If you can’t bring students to SIU, take SIU to the students.

That’s the idea behind a new partnership with two community colleges in the St. Louis area.

According to a news release from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, Chancellor Austin Lane signed an agreement with St. Louis Community College on Friday, March 4 and an agreement with Southwestern Illinois College on Wednesday, March 2 to offer their students a chance to earn a degree from SIU remotely.

It’s part of the Saluki Step Ahead program, which now includes 11 community colleges.
