Death investigation in Stoddard Co.

STODDARD COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - Chief Andy Holden with the Stoddard County Sheriff’s office reported a death that occurred on Friday, November 5, around 4:47 p.m.

According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s office they arrived to a truck repair business near the intersection of County Road 517 and U.S. Highway 60 in rural Dexter, Mo.

Following their arrival they identified 32-year-old Franklin J. Morris dead at the scene.

The Stoddard County Major Case Squad is conducting a death investigation.

During the investigation the suspect was identified as 41-year-old Boyd R. Lippoldt , of Dexter, Mo.

According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s office, Lippoldt intentionally hit Morris with a vehicle that caused his injuries.

Lippoldt moved the vehicle that was used to hit Morris.

Lippoldt is currently at the Stoddard County Jail on a 24-hour hold for the charges of murder, armed criminal action, possession of Methamphetamines and a DWI.

The investigation is ongoing and no further information is available at this time.
