According to the preliminary investigation from Illinois State Police, a 2016 Freightliner truck tractor with semi-trailer was going southbound on I-57 when it left the road on the right.

The driver, a 39-year-old Texas man, overcorrected and the SEMI truck overturned on its passenger side.

Troopers say the driver refused medical attention and the passenger, a 28-year-old Texas man, was taken to an area hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.

According to ISP, the driver was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid a crash and improper lane usage.
