Barn fire in Cape Girardeau, Mo. considered suspicious

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Crews responded to a barn fire on Friday afternoon, April 23.

It was located off of Robin Lane behind Walmart in Cape Girardeau.

According to Cape Girardeau Fire Chief Randy Morris, they were called out first around 11:13 a.m.

According to the Gordonville Fire department, the barn was a total loss.

They said it’s unknown how the fire started because there is no electricity going to it.

Cape Girardeau Fire Chief Randy Morris said it is considered suspicious. The fire marshal was called in from Farmington, Mo.

Nothing was in the barn at the time and no injuries were reported.

Gordonville and Cape Girardeau were the only departments on scene.
