JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KFVS) - The Missouri State Highway Patrol says deadly crash are up 8 percent statewide.

The department reported 34 deadly crashes month-to-date and 217 crashes year-to-date.

That’s compared to the same period in 2020 when there were 22 deadly crashes month-to-date and 200 year-to-date.

According to the highway patrol, speed and distracted driving are the top contributors in these crashes.
