CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - On Tuesday, voters will go to the polls for a variety of issues in Missouri and Illinois.
We met up with crews working to put up 31 precincts for the election on April 6 in Cape Girardeau County.
On the ballots there are plenty of mayor races, school board members, propositions and more to vote on.
Cape Girardeau County Clerk Kara Clark Summers expected a 12-14 percent turnout for this type of election, but hoped more will show up to vote.
“We have sample ballots on our website. We’ve also sent notices to every household saying there is an election tomorrow,” Clark Summers said. “Hopefully that will create more interest. I know that a lot of candidates have been out campaigning and things.”
They’ve set up their polling locations with social distancing and safety in mind with plexiglass in place and cleaning supplies ready for the election judges and voters.
