UNION CO., Ky. (WFIE) - Authorities say a suspect wanted for murder in Illinois has been taken into custody.

They say Tuesday at 12:45 p.m., the suspect was barricaded at Hometown Inn on E. Waverly and eventually arrested just before 3:30 p.m.

Kentucky State Police say this is a U.S. Marshals case, but KSP sent a special response team to handle negotiations.

Our crew on the scene says they could hear authorities yelling the name Alexander McWilliam.

Illinois State Police notified the public last week that 36-year-old Alexander McWilliam, of Harrisburg, IL, is wanted in connection to the March 13 shooting death of Mishealia M. Meredith.
