SOUTHERN ILLINOIS. (KFVS) - The Southern Seven Health Department (S7HD) reported 13 new COVID-19 cases on March 3.

One case was in Alexander County, another one was in Hardin County, five cases were in Johnson County, another case was in Massac County, one case was in Pope County, and four cases were in Union County.

There was a total of 6,526 cases in the region, 23 were active.

Ninety-three people died due to the virus.
