CARLISLE COUNTY, Ky. (KFVS) - On Saturday February 20 at approximately 11:00 p.m. a Deputy observed a 2011 Mitsubishi Galant traveling south on Hwy 307 with improper equipment.
The Deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle.
However, the vehicle continued to travel at normal speed for approximately a half a mile.
The vehicle eventually stopped, and the Deputy contacted the driver Theresa Walker, 57, of Paducah.
The vehicle had marijuana smoke coming from the inside of the vehicle.
While being interviewed Walker attempted to throw a bag of marijuana to keep it from being located.
Walker admitted to having been drinking earlier but denied smoking marijuana.
Deputies located a partially smoked marijuana joint that was still warm to the touch.
Deputies also located Gabapentin a Schedule 3 controlled substance in a container in the center console of the vehicle.
She was arrested and charged with Operating a motor vehicle under the influence, No insurance, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Tampering with evidence, and two equipment violations.
Walker was transported and lodged at the McCracken County Regional Jail.
She has since been released pending court appearances.
