CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. (KFVS) - A woman was injured in a crash when her vehicle hit a patch of ice on a bridge.
According to the Calloway County Sheriff’s Office, a 25-year-old New Concord, Ky. woman was taken by ambulance to an area hospital.
Deputies responded to Highway 94 East near Clayton Road around 7 a.m. on Monday, January 18.
They said the woman was driving a white Dodge Durango westbound on Highway 94 when the vehicle crossed a patch of ice on a bridge. The vehicle hit the guardrail on the north side and then hit the guardrail on the south side of the road.
The sheriff’s office was assisted on scene by the Calloway County Fire-Rescue Department.
Deputies reminded drivers to be cautious of ice this time of year. They said ice typically forms on bridges and overpasses first, and sometimes is difficult to see.
