After a few dry days, the pattern is going to be becoming more active again over the next few days. As an upper low approaches from the northwest, we’ll have increasing clouds and southwest winds today ahead of a cold front. It looks like this front will be just strong to produce a band of light rain or rain showers from late afternoon (west) to just after sunset (east.) Otherwise we’ll have highs today in the low 50s, though it will seem cooler due to the gusty winds.
On Friday a cold upper low will spin down towards the lower Ohio Valley. This will bring clouds, chilly northwest winds and some patchy snow or snow showers to our region by afternoon and evening. Temps should be just above freezing during the afternoon…so there could be some rain or sleet mixed in at times. Once the sun goes down the snow might accumulate a bit on roadways…so slick travel may be an issue Friday evening into Saturday morning. Otherwise the weekend is looking cold but mainly dry.
