CLINTON, Ky. (KFVS) - The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) restored power to 2,760 customers served by Gibson EMC’s Clinton, Kentucky substation early Thursday morning, January 14.

Power was restored shortly after 3:45 a.m. after a planned outage that began at 11 p.m.

During the scheduled outage, Gibson EMC said crews made necessary repairs that could not wait for milder temperatures.

The TVA was concerned that temporary repairs made on Jan. 7 would result in an equipment failure and a much longer outage.

According to Gibson EMC, the first repairs were made after it was discovered that someone vandalized TVA equipment at the Clinton, Ky. substation, which knocked out power to customers.
