CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - The Community Partnership of Southeast Missouri is continuing to make progress on its new facility.

Executive director Melissa Stickel said crews have made a lot of progress with drywall going up, electric and more as offices inside start to take shape.

The facility will be used to provide homeless individuals with showers, laundry facilities and movement into permanent housing, as well as an array of other services.

“We will be able to serve more clients and we’ll be able to serve them in a more efficient and effective manner,” Stickel said. “We will also be able to increase the services that we already provide, particularly for our vulnerable individuals, such as our homeless population.”

The expected completion date is April of 2021 where they will take the next month moving everything in and open around the beginning of June.

It all started in April of last year where they started the purchasing, grant writing and planning of this renovation and additional 7,000-square-foot activity center.

They were awarded money through the Neighborhood Assistance Program for the renovation.
