1 lane of I-57 north of Ina reopened after morning crash, vehicle fire

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ill. (KFVS) - One northbound lane of Interstate 57 in Jefferson County, Illinois at milepost 85 was reopened at 11:14 a.m. following a crash and vehicle fire.
According to the Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), the crash happened about two miles north of Ina.
Earlier on Tuesday morning, December 29 both northbound lanes of I-57 were closed, including one southbound lane.
At this time, one southbound lane remains closed to traffic.
IDOT also reported that traffic was also backed up as far north as the Interstate 64 junction at Mt. Vernon.
