SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (KFVS) - The graduated income tax amendment in Illinois did not pass.
With 98 percent of the precincts reporting, 2,735,485 voted no and 2,237,103 voted yes.
The amendment would repeal the state’s requirement that personal income tax is a flat rate across income. It would allow the state to create a graduated income tax.
