CAPE GIRARDEAU COUNTY, Mo. (KFVS) - The Cape Girardeau County Clerk’s Office wanted to ensure the safety of voters by following guidelines from the county health center and CDC.
If you are sick or have tested positive for COVID-19, you can call the clerk’s office and they can offer you voting alternatives.
Voters are also asked to stay 6 feet apart from each other when possible.
“We’ve been trying to set up the polling places to where there’s social distancing allowed in the room,” said Kara Clark Summers, Cape Girardeau County clerk. “And we will also have sanitizers here at the polling places. Cleaning throughout the day, sanitizing those booths. We have the safety shields for election judges, so it acts as a barrier between the judge and the voter.”
Facemasks will be made available for those who do not have one.
According to the clerk’s office, no eligible Cape Girardeau County voter will be refused the right to vote.
