Man dead after officer-involved shooting in Trigg Co.

CADIZ, Ky. (KFVS) - Kentucky State Police Post 1 Troopers and Detectives were on scene at a residence on Forest Circle near Cadiz on Wednesday, October 28.

According to KSP, Trigg County Sheriff Aaron Acree responded to a home on Forest Circle near Cadiz around 12:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

They said shortly after arriving on scene, an altercation began between Acree and a man at the home. During that altercation, the officer fired their service weapon, hitting the man.

The man, identified as 44-year-old Bennie “Shawn” Biby, of Cadiz, was pronounced dead at the Trigg County Hospital by the coroner.

The autopsy was conducted Thursday morning, October 29 at the Western Kentucky Medical Examiner’s Office in Madisonville, Ky.

It concluded that Biby died as a result of multiple gunshot wounds to the torso.
