MARSTON, Mo. (KFVS) - A man is facing charges in connection to the death of his one-month-old baby daughter.
Skylar Cody Babb, of Marston, was charged with second-degree murder, abuse of a child and endangering the welfare of a child.
According to a Probable Cause statement, Babb told investigators that on the night of June 4, he took his daughter out of a crib and threw her up in the air several times.
On the last time he threw her up in the air, Babb said he missed and his daughter hit her head on a table.
When Babb picked the baby up she had blood in her mouth. Babb told the investigator he shook the baby several times to get her to respond, but she did not.
First responders were called to the Marston home.
When New Madrid County Sheriff deputies arrived, they found Babb performing CPR on the baby.
The child was then transported to an area medical center and later to a St. Louis hospital.
On June 8, the baby girl died from her injuries.
Court documents state the baby’s injuries were a result of Shaken Baby Syndrome.
