CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Three large signs and 20 smaller signs were stolen over the weekend in Cape Girardeau.

The signs are in support of Proposition Hawks that will be on the April 7 ballot.

According to Nell Holcomb R-IV Superintendent Bleau Deckerd, the stolen signs are worth about $600.

Mr. Deckerd added that funds to replace them come from donations, and do not come out of the district’s finances. There is currently enough money to replace the signs.

Two smaller signs were also found damaged last week.

According to Mr. Deckerd, an incident report has been filed with police.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Mr. Deckerd or CPL VanGennip.

Officials said without the signs they’ll have to work harder to spread their message.
