Juvenile in custody after reporting acts of violence in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Police were called out to investigate an incident at the Red Star boat ramp in Cape Girardeau around 11:45 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4.

Officials with the Cape Girardeau Police Department said one juvenile is in custody.

According to Sgt. Joey Hann, a juvenile with several mental health issues called in to 911 reporting acts of violence that were occurring and more that would occur.

Officers found the juvenile him at the boat dock and he was secured without incident.

Police said they confirmed that none if his reports of violence were valid.

A KFVS reporter on scene said at one time there were at least eight cop cars parked at the ramp, which allows access to the Mississippi River.
