Man arrested, 2 injured in early morning stabbing in Cape Girardeau

Two hurt in Cape Girardeau stabbing

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - Police in Cape Girardeau are investigating a stabbing on Wednesday morning, Jan. 29.

Michael V. Straughn was arrested Tuesday night in regard to the stabbing, according to Sgt. Joey Hann with the Cape Girardeau Police Department.

A warrant charges Straughn with assault and armed criminal action. His bond is set at $50,000 cash only.

The two victims in the incident lived with Straughn, police said. They are described as a man and a woman.

Hann says they were both cut with a knife and had minor injuries.

It happened in the 1500 block of North Spanish Street around 1 a.m.
