TRIGG COUNTY, Ky. (KFVS) - Kentucky State Police (KSP) are investigating a deadly two-vehicle crash in Trigg County on Sunday, Jan. 19.
The crash happened at approximately 7:40 p.m. on Highway 68 westbound at the KY 139/South Rd. intersection at Cadiz.
The road and intersection was closed for several hours due to the crash.
According to KSP, Brandon Phillip Hare, 21 of Cadiz, was driving a car and he failed to yield at a stop sign.
A pick-up truck traveling westbound then hit the car in the passenger side.
According to Trigg County Coroner John Mark Vinson, Hare died at the scene and his passenger, Jarod Ashe Ballengee, 20 of Cadiz. Ballengee, died shortly after arriving at an area hospital.
Coroner Vinson said both men died from blunt force trauma from the crash.
The driver of the truck, 24-year-old Tyler L. Dodson of Murray, and his passengers, 69-year-old Dorthy Dodson and 23-year-old Mason L. Dodson were transported by ambulance to an area hospital.
Tyler and Dorothy Dodson were treated and released. Mason Dodson was transferred to another hospital for further treatment.
A KSP crash reconstruction expert will be at the crash site for the next couple of days to continue their investigation.
The Trigg County Coroner’s Office is also investigating.
An autopsy and toxicology for Hare is being conducted Monday, Jan. 20 at the request of the Coroner Vinson.
