SALINE COUNTY, Ill. (KFVS) - Officials in Saline County rescued four people over the weekend.
Harrisburg Fire Chief John Gunning said they were called out on Saturday night, January 11 to four teens stranded on top of a truck.
This was 3 miles southeast of Harrisburg on Ingram Hill Road.
Fire Chief Gunning said a barricade was not set up when they drove into the water.
He said the truck was in about 8 feet of water.
The teens were all check out by medics and released to their parents.
Gunning said there was another person who got stuck in the water at the same spot just before the rescue. He said they were able to wade through the water to safety on their own, and their vehicle was towed from that area before the call about the teens came in.
Officials are reminding drivers to ‘Turn Around Don’t Drown’ when roads are flooded.
