PADUCAH, Ky. (KFVS) - A Paducah woman is facing charges after she crashed her vehicle, with children inside, while under the influence of alcohol.
According to the Paducah Police Department, an officer responded to a single vehicle crash, on Dec. 28, at 11:55 p.m. at the 4700 block of Buckner Lane.
When the officer arrived he saw Candace Coomes-Utley, 33, of Paducah, standing outside her vehicle, holding an injured child. Coomes-Utley said she had lost control of her vehicle and struck a tree while making a turn onto Buckner Ln.
Coomes-Utley along with her three children ages 14, 4, and 9 months were taken by ambulance to a local hospital. The condition of the her and the children are unknown.
While speaking with Coomes-Utley, an officer smelled alcohol. When the officer asked she said she had consumed two shots of alcohol earlier in the day.
During his investigation the officer determined Coomes-Utley was under the influence of alcohol.
She was taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail, where she was charged with wanton endangerment and operating motor vehicle under the influence of Alcohol.
