Shots fired during an argument, leads to an arrest of a Paducah woman

PADUCAH, Ky. (KFVS) - Officers with the Paducah Police Department have arrested a woman who is accused of firing a gun during an argument.

According to the Paducah Police Department, officers where called to the 1200 block of Helen Street in Paducah on December 28 around 11:35 p.m., after a report of shots fired.

A witness told officers that someone fired a gun near a truck, and then left the area. Another witness told officers his girlfriend, Rebecca Dowell, 49, of Paducah, had fired a shot into the pavement during an argument.

A description of the truck Dowell was driving was given to the officers, the truck was quickly found at a nearby gas station. An officer that spoke to Dowell saw a gun on the floorboard of her car. She denied being at the 1200 block of Helen Street during the time of the incident.

Dowell was arrested and taken to the McCracken County Jail, were she was charged with wanton endangerment.
