MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (KFVS) - Work is finished on a railroad overpass that was damaged by some heavy equipment.

According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, the Canadian National Railroad completed work on the overpass around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 10. No additional work was required on Wednesday.

The Canadian National Railroad closed the section of KY 725/Woodville Road on Tuesday at mile point 0.408 for additional repair work to the overpass that was hit by a piece of heavy equipment. This was along KY 725/Woodville Rd. immediately west of the KY 305/Cairo Rd. intersection in the Maxon Crossing area of McCracken County.

When the truck hit the railroad overpass, a large excavator head, used to move trees, was wedged under it.

The Canadian National Railroad company inspected the overpass. One of the bridge beams was damaged.

Railroad traffic was stopped in order to repair the beam.
