CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KFVS) - The Bill Emerson Memorial Bridge has reopened to traffic after being hit by a barge on Friday, Nov. 15.
According to MoDOT, the bridge passed inspection and no damage was found.
Around 9:20 p.m. on Nov. 15, a barge hit the Bill Emerson Memorial Bridge, it is pinned up against a pier.
The barge was pinned against the pier side-wise, putting a large amount to the river’s pressure on the pier.
