PERRYVILLE, Mo. (KFVS) - The City of Perryville has a new distinction.
The Prisoner of War and Missing in Action Museum has named the town a POW-MIA city.
Perryville is one of 40 communities in four states to be given the destination.
A member of the POW-MIA Museum explained what exactly that means.
“It means that the city is committed to remembering and memorializing both the service member and their family. And they do that by flying the flag where the city flag or the U.S. colors are flown. And to have a highway entrance sign and to have at least one memorial event a year.”
That memorial event is meant to be educational and can be for kids or adults.
