Emergency crews respond to pick-up truck vs. school bus crash

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ill. (KFVS) - Emergency crews responded on the scene of a crash involving a pick-up truck and a school bus in Franklin County, Illinois.

The crash happened at approximately 7:30 a.m. on IL Route 149 west of Royalton on Thursday, Nov. 7.

Zeigler-Royalton Community Unit School District Superintendent Quent Hamilton said a pick-up truck rear-ended one of their school buses.

No students were injured, but one student was treated as precautionary measure.

Another school bus picked up the students and transported them to school.

Supt. Hamilton said this was an unfortunate event, but is thankful no one was hurt.

The extent of the damages to the truck or bus are not clear, but the bus was towed from the scene.

Franklin County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the crash.

The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
