ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KFVS) - The St. Louis Cardinals hosted the Washington Nationals in Game 1 of the NLCS.
The Nationals won 2-0.
Game 2 will be Saturday, Oct. 12 at 3 p.m. at Busch Stadium.
The game started at 7 p.m. on Friday, October 11.
Nathan Ellgren was at Busch Stadium where Cardinal Nation turned out strong.
People were dancing to music at Ballpark Village to stay warm.
This was one of the first cold weather baseball games of the year, but the fans weren’t going anywhere.
We caught up with some Cardinals fans from the Heartland who were excited.
“The Cardinals never cease to surprise anybody,” Matthew Hunter from New Madrid, Mo., said. “It’s always a little bit of magic here in the post season.”
“They’ve made the right moves at the right time,” Travis Loyd, from Vienna, Ill., said. “They hit the ball right in the right spot at the right time and here we are with home field advantage. I mean, that is crazy, and to get L.A. out of it makes it even better.”
Most Cardinals fans we talked to preferred the Washington Nationals. Regardless of the game’s outcome, they’re pumped to watch the rest of the series.
The Cardinals are 50-31 in home games. The Nationals have gone 43-38 away from home.
