Bluegrass Downs in Paducah, Ky. to close
PADUCAH, Ky. (KFVS) - A horse racetrack in Paducah, Kentucky is closing, according to its website.
Sunday, September 29 is the last day of operations at Bluegrass Downs.
The track is owned by VICI Properties and managed by Caesars Entertainment.
The following is a statement:
“After careful deliberation, Caesars Entertainment has made the difficult decision to discontinue operations at Bluegrass Downs and allow its racing license to expire. As part of this closure, we have committed to providing all eligible employees with a severance package. We also want to thank our host City of Paducah, Mayor Harless, Chairman Kling and the Kentucky Horse Racing Commission for their support.”
Bluegrass Downs had originally announced it will close on Tuesday, Oct. 1 on it’s website.
